
It’s time once again for the Creative Writing Institute (CWI) at Florida Tech! CWI will take place May 13-17th. This year’s event will include Keynote Speaker Lynne Barrett, winner of the 2011 Florida Book Award and Featured Writer John Dufresne, awarded 2012 Guggenheim Fellowship for Fiction! Returning Featured Writers are Susan Hubbard and Philip F. Deaver, and new this year is Michael Lister.
Classes will cover many genres: thrillers, poetry, short stories, memoirs, and novels. Whether you are an experienced writer looking for publication tips, or a beginner just looking to flex your writing muscles, there is something for everyone. You may even take a class with or attend a lecture by one of your favorite Florida Tech professors. Instructors or lecturers are Dr. Robert Taylor, Marcia Denius, Dr. Jamie Younkin, Dr. Ted Petersen, Dr. Lars Jones, and Dr. Alan Rosiene. The CWI is more than just classes and lectures. The institute also boasts 14 Bonus Events, including the Sunday keynote address, a book fair, and an orientation.
